Never seen sticker frame protectors. Seems kinda thin.
I would email the manufacturer and ask. That is odd! My metal chassis protectors just bolt on. There is no adhesive between them and the frame.
The protectors typically go on the sides of the floorpan/frame and on the front of the frame. That adhesive is likely just to protect the frame from getting smacked by the protectors.
