Hi everyone, a few months back i made a post about a karting program that i managed to get involved in, well, i actually came out on top, and i thought i was gonna get to run a season with the LO206 karts, but turned out i got lucky, and now i got the option to run ROTAX SENIOR for a year!!!
That was a bit off topic, yea so i now i need proper gear, bought myself the Bengio ab7, loving it so far, top notch build quality, but i need tips on wearing it:
Does the front panel need to go Under the side protectors or over them?
Can i wear it on the outside of my suit if the series allows it? A lot of people have said thats a big no no but havent told me why
Is it normal if it looks a bit weird under my suit? Like i have a female chest (I hope you understand what im trying to say)

I can’t speak to that particular rib protector but if you are able to post a pic of you wearing it the feedback would be much more useful. Like they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
We have never ran a rib protector on the outside of the suit. My first concern would be how it fits and it they may allow it to move or sit in the incorrect position. It can only protect when it is fit right.
I don’t have first hand experience but going by pictures I would say the chest protector should be outside of the rib protectors.
I used to wear my basic benjio outside of my suit, but now wear it under my suit. I think as long as you have the proper size, wearing between a base layer and your suit would be the best for fit and function. With that said, your suit will wear on the seat mounts more, to the point it may wear holes.
As for how it looks, having the additional layer to protect your sternum is going to look bulkier. I guess you can’t have it all!
