Hey peeps, was just wondering if anyone had any experience with a jecko seat in an OTK frame (kart republic style seat). If so did it make the kart handle better/was it an improvement over the standard otk seat?
cheers!

It’s mostly a preference thing. Do you like the standard seat shape or Jecko? Driven an OTK with a stock OTK seat, a medium stiffness Tillet, and a soft/med Jecko. I didn’t feel a tangible difference in handling. Something like a super soft Tillet will make a difference in handling. But “like for like” stiffness I was worse in the Jecko, but I just wasn’t comfortable.
The biggest difference in the Jecko shape is it allows for more creative places to mount lead. Go look at any Kart Republic and you’ll see they mount their lead far differently than you see on a typical shape seat. ![]()
A different philosophy.
@SamD ran a Jecko in his OTK shifter for a while. Seemed to like it. He can probably tell you more though.
sounds good!
probably going to conduct a few seat tests to get the OTK frames to work here again in aus.
I mainly liked it because of the ergonomics but it worked it fine in my OTK. I have REALLY long legs (but am only 5’11’) so the extra thigh support really helps me out and keeps my legs from flopping all over the place. I’ve ran nothing but Jecko’s regardless of chassis sense. Can’t say I noticed a difference in handling other than moving the seat further back (which had nothing to do with the actual seat).
