Help!! & I apologise in advance if this is a stupid question

I’m trying to mount a set of Dunlop KT14 wet tyres to my rims, & whilst the front were easy enough, I’m just about at my wits end with the rears. I can get the tyres into the rim no problem, but inflating is just not happening. The gap between the rim and the tyre is just too big to even get close to closing and taking air to push it onto the bead.

Am I doing something completely wrong?

Less than favorable method. Ratchet strap around the middle to push the beads out

Are you sure you have the correct width rim. Wets use a narrower 6 inch rim.

The first thing I thought of as well.

Thanks Alan, the rims I’m using are 210mm. A quick google tells me they’re too wide
