Radiator Hoses - Material Type / Where to Buy

Hello guys,

I am curious if anyone knows whether karting radiator hoses are made from EPDM or silicone. Need to replace some and wanted to know if there is a cheaper option than the $31.95 I’m seeing on the mfg. website.

Seems expensive.

Also, these hoses have to be ordered with bends in them already, correct? If anyone has a good source please let me know.

I was unable to find stamping on the prd parts.

There’s are both rubber and silicone hoses available. And yes they are pre-bent, at least the one that goes from the head to the rad is.

Do you know a good supplier? I am trying to find some for cheap cheap.

That’s about as cheap as it gets. You could try an Autoparts store and get rubber hose by the foot.

I figured as much. Oh well, thanks guys. I’m just going to order the standard PRD parts.

Heater hose from the auto parts store and a couple of barb elbow bends. It’s not pretty but it works. It’s one of those time vs money decisions.

Will standard auto hoses meet the pressure and temperature requirements? I was doing a little homework and my research said karting hoses are more heat and pressure resistant, but I find a lot of the stuff in this sport people say is not always accurate so if auto hoses work I’ll use those.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t tbh.

100%. The kart system is not pressurized (not in the way a car is) and ideally your water temp should be hovering around 120F - 160F in a two stroke. Rad hoses can see in excess of 210F and anything between 15 and 20PSI
