Rear Track

I recently swapped out my axle for a softer one to plant the rear end a little more on corner exit.
While I’m at the track this weekend I’d like to play with the rear track to see what works well for me. What would be the best baseline width to start with?
I’m running x30 senior with MG SM soft tires on a Formula K kart.

The baseline rear track width for most karts is around 1390mm - 1395mm. Start from there, narrow or widen in 5-10mm increments usually.

Follow up question. What’s the best way to measure it with the sprocket and brakes on?

Stick the tape measure through the center of the axle and use a straight edge on either end up against the face of the wheel.
