Ted Prappas - said this to me after spinning out of the lead of the Russel North American FF Festival in 1982… he was ribbing me for finishing 2nd but never leading.
Ted went on to have a pretty good career; F Atlantic champion, 2nd in the ARS championship (aka Indy lights), and 26 races in CART, with a 6th at Long Beach being his best finish.
Also,
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.
Understeer is when the driver is scared.

I like that. Understeer is indeed a helpless feeling. Plowing into things has its unique vibe.

When my Son was giving me some driver coaching:
Randy: what are you doing in this corner
Me: slight burp of throttle
Randy: nope, that corners wide open
Me: I can’t do that
Randy: if you want to be fast you will
Damn kid went full circle on me. Made me proud and stepped on my nuts all at the same time.
