I use these earplugs and they are fantastic.

They come with different tips so hopefully one might work with your child

Hey! The karting team we are racing with suggested the Loop Engage Kids Earplugs from Amazon. They come in different colors and work very well for kids. Unfortunately, the ear plugs didn’t work either. I think she was coming up with different reasons to avoid getting into the kart because she is scared of it.

After the last practice session we had, we decided to pause things for now until she can naturally grow out of the fears in her own. If we continue to “push” her, which we never did but taking her to the track alone to practice is interpreted by her as if we are making her do something she’s not ready to do, we don’t want her to create a negative association to the sport. So, the strategy moving forward is me getting into a kart and doing practice sessions so she can go to the track and watch me rather than her feeling the pressure of having to get into her kart.

Maybe she’ll be more inclined if she sees me doing laps safely and coming out talking to her about all the fun we are having as a family. We are going to give this a shot and see how it goes. If she shows interest again we’ll get her back into her kart, if not, we will try again when she’s 5. Every kid is different and grows at their own pace. The issue with her is she’s scared of everything, the kart, the track, the noises, the people staring at her, the whole enchilada. She’s too young to understand and process all of it so we think she’ll naturally grow into it as she gets older.

Meanwhile, she’s racing at home in the karting simulator I built her and she’s having lots of fun with that loll
