I always call my engine builder and ask who they would suggest I talk to that did well at new regional or national event.
They always connected me to a fellow racer who gave me great advice. Gearing, track conditions, kart set up - if I wasn’t in their class.
Do your homework don’t show up and ad lib at these events.
