Does anyone here actually race cars?

Nice car to hoon! I had a 550 and it was a heavy beast of a car. I imagine the m5 is a tad more nimble.

Did some autocrossing too when i studied in austin,tx with my daily camaro v6 . I also did some professional racing such as touring car and tested formula bmw back in 2007 in bahrain, didnt get into the championship due to sponsorship. Did some ‘taxi rides’ driving for some companies with 458 and mp4 12c. Right now back to where i started. Karting

I like all of them but the little red one seems a hoot. What kind of car?

It was quite fun driving that little kei car-ish. Its only 850cc engine. I flipped during quali bcs of understeer. Forgot how that this car was fwd and karting is rwd. Ended upside down.:rofl:

Fortunately it’s so small you can probably roll it back over by yourself!

That’s some baddassery there. Are you based in Europe?

Unfortunately I am

Welcome. I’m from Ireland, there’s a few from Europe here.

So cool. Definitely one of my dream tracks. I always find myself running it on the sim for hours. Can’t imagine the experience IRL.

This has the same vibes to me as a really sexy sim rig, in a good way (the interior pics). Nice build. Also, nice air.

I haven’t raced cars w2w, mainly out of choice. I have done a ton of track days in cars and on sport bikes (prolly 50 total, roughly even split), but racing cars gets into a whole different category of cash. Almost all my racing has either been motocross or karts in some form.

Also, once you’ve raced a shifterkart, most cars feel slow and sluggish. The ones that don’t are out of my price range. I have a C7 Grand Sport Corvette on slicks that is a mellow relaxing experience on track in comparison to driving my shifter. Maybe I will race cars when I am too old to take the physical beating from the kart.

I don’t race cars but like many here, when I got interested in motorsports, that was the logical place to look. Did some track sessions via Porsche school and Lucas oil. Then found karting as an affordable way to pursue motorsports.

Dom pre-karting (lose weight while driving):

I do not track my daily. Its too pretty and innocent to be exposed to a den of sin like a race track.

Ahh the good old Apex M4

I love the E60. I had a 530i 2005…drove it 400,000 miles sold it to a friend and he is driving it now. Just a fantastic car. I

I’m driving a 430i M sport…Absolutely love this car! Stage 1 tune, dinan exhaust…sounds great too!

Yeah the e60 seems to be the kind of thing that people love or hate. Same as SMG. I love both, the SMG is so crude it reminds me of a shifter kart and it’s fun to see passengers heads bob at gear change time.

Broke a valve spring in mine so I’m slowing working on getting that fixed up.

Just one of several others along the way from karts, to cars and back to karts.
