Eagle Hop & Slide

With a black chassis, I’d say it would be difficult to see a small crack. Even with my bright blue chassis, the crack wasn’t easily spotted. The seat cracking prematurely could be caused by the the excessive hopping and flex that you are encountering due to lack of rigidity caused by a broken seat strut.

@C-Hogue070 to Larry’s point, it doesn’t take a large crack to make a problem and they can be hard to find. The darker the powder coat the harder to see.

Pardon how ugly the cleanup is. We had to make a track side emergency repair on this one. Could barely see a line in the powder coat. Run your fingernail over it and you might think you felt and edge. Ground off the powder coat and there was indeed a hairline crack.

2nd OTK we have had this on. 1st one was LO206 with no struts, kart started losing time all through the day’s practice no matter what we did (welds were failing), in qualy entire left side broke off. Had it tig repaired and got lots more races on that chassis. The one is this photo cracked 2 weeks ago, KA100 with struts. We only noticed this one because there was a more obvious crack on the other side so we inspected very very closely.
