New Kart Tires for Challenge of the Americas - Shinko Tires

Hmm… I can try :upside_down_face: we will see how they perform. COTA is essentially ROK (or at least it was) So kinda odd they dropped Levanto tires. Might be trying to cut ties with OTK stuff.

I think in the last couple of years COTA has drifted to allowing both IAME and ROK where they have similar engines specs (Cadet, 100cc).

Yeop I believe that is correct as well. The ROK GP class is pretty much dead so they are trying to get the OK-N stuff up and running instead.

I can’t disagree with you on the dumbness of the name.

Has anyone tested on these tires yet? I’m heading out to Tucson for testing next week before Rd 1 of COTA and I’m hoping to get some good baseline pressures to start with.

Anyone have any idea if this means that LeVanto is just dead for all ROK series in the US, or is this just for the winter series? Reading the ekartingnews article it sounds like the promoter is ‘independent’, but I don’t really know what that means in the context of tires for any/all ROK series races…

I think ROK Cup USA is still using LeVanto for now at least. There’s lots of talk (because OTK bought Vega tires) but no announcement has been made with regards to changing the selected tire away from LeVanto.

Start around your typical 9-10psi. They seem okay-ish. Very plasticy like some newer tires.

I hear that some people have been struggling with longevity, in the rear particularly. Was this your experience as well?
