Yeah I think the Sunoco 112 to 260gtx price is very close. Not sure why skusa went with the 112. I don’t run skusa and don’t runt the 112, I’ve only run the 112 at Rok vegas where it was the spec fuel. I run the 260gtx because I have little ones and I personally feel my KZ runs really nice on it; however, since most are running leaded fuel it’s kinda like pissing in the pond as there’s lots of exhaust floating around. Unless the orgs mandate it, I don’t see that changing.
Nope. It is available in bulk from Sunoco race fuel distributors at a much lower price point.
I am blessed to work 15 minutes from the distributor that supplies TSRS, so I fill my 2 cans with bulk fuel for about 60% of the price.
260GTX is available in bulk as well, for a similar discount.
I wish it was here, but our local distributor only has the Sunoco Standard 110 in bulk. The 260gtx and Supreme 112 are only available in pails.
Hi Charles, kart owner newbie here. X30 with old style exhaust / airbox / ignition.
Any gotchas with running running pump premium 93 AKI / 98 RON, E10 in this config? Need to retard timing? I know rest of world has been running unleaded for the past 25 years, so I’m guessing there’s no material difference with service intervals, since 98 RON / 93 AKI unleaded literally looks like what IAME recommend for the X30. Thanks!
Hi Ricky, per above, I’m a n00b with karts. Like you, I don’t want to contribute to poisoning any kids at the track, regardless of what everyone else is running.
I bought a pail of 260GTX to do the initial shakedown with this new-to-me X30 kart. Any tips? Anything to note regarding AFR, EGT, timing, squish, oil mixture ratio? I can add a wideband and monitor in addition to the EGT already on the kart if needed. Thanks!
Literally, no. This is a pump gas engine. You’re in the East and have good pump gas. Run it according to IAME’s recommendations. Jet nice and rich to start to keep EGT down in practice but send it on race day.
