I’m probably going to start with either AC or ACC, I heard ACC has better physics since they only have to focus on one class of cars, so they say for terms of GT, its very realistic.
But I want to hear your guys thoughts on AC, I’d probably do the Mazda, Skip Barber, and other cars. How good are the physics on AC compared to other sims, I heard from others it was one was the best ones but feel free to tell your experience
ACC is good , for some reason to me that fast of a car doesn’t feel as connected to me as the slower cars like the skippie and Mazda.
I will say ACC IMO does require good brake tuning as the cars can be very sensitive and difficult to drive. In AC racing the little fiats was actually fun and felt connected.
I would recommend iRacing with a good VR head set if you are into sim racing. Direct drive steering wheel and a kicker system for the seat. Someone built me a rig during COVID that cost about $5,000 and was pretty useful to train on with the spec miata stuff and formula ford cars etc.
Long story short I kind of got tired of it and made a deal to sell the equipment and rebuild my OTK. E-Sports are like supplements to me. Good to add to a training program. Not what I want my diet to center around. Simulators are very useful for task specific training as well as focus drills.
Sim racing is overhyped in my experience in terms of making you a better driver in a real car.
If everyone else is taking it seriously I would agree with that. It does help with race craft making decision but there are limits. One example id say is high downforce cars on a street circuit. You can do a turn 100 times in a simulator and not blink but irl it’s different with a cliff or wall. Fair point.
