Tracks with a lot of curves?
My local one has long to medium straights and I doubt someone could make pole with used SH2 tyres.
At least my nearby club never says that

Pretty technical track with off camber turns. And big run from the back all the way to Turn1.
Like you said about SH2 the KA guys are definitely changing tires often.
But our 206/Mojo package at this track is simply one of the best club options you can get.
We ran YLCs when I first started and people had new sets every weekend.
Now almost every local won’t even show up on a race day with stickers because we actually find the tires to be faster here after a few heat cycles.
Many years ago (~2010) Tri-C Karters Rotax Masters class on medium compound Maxxis tires were competitive for 3 races. This was with grid sizes of 25. New tires were .5 sec slower than those with one good heat cycle. I think that the tires durability was a factor in number of entries Rotax Masters.
Mojo D2. Greatest club racing tire ever. Like nothing else is even close. Had one kart on track record pace last week with 20+ heat cycles. Have seen drivers win races 30+ cycle. And that’s a very competitive club - 30-40 racers typically.
And no one bolts on new for qual as they kinda suck. lol
Used SH2’s are awful. At least new they are a fantastic tire. Best we’ve run in years for big events! But the SH was actually a better club tire. The SH2 will have a negative effect on club kart counts eventually.
Well, as a real world example, I can 100% tell you it is true with the Hoosier R70s. New tires have seen no benefit compared to 4 race day old tires. Some of our guys have gone half the season on the same set. As a matter of fact, I put 4 heat cycles on new tires before qualifying because that’s when they truly feel like they start working.
we use them with Rotax, the GX390 class uses Dunlop tyres and they are obliged to use the same set for three races iif I recall correctly.
From the little I have seen in a recent X30 race they last a little less than the SH and from what a friend said to me the new compound for the Micro and Mini classes lasts the same as the old one
For micro and mini I’m inclined to agree. The weight and lateral loads don’t eat them up.
