The Great Debate: KA100 vs VLR

The 2021 California Rok Challenge allowed both but VLR min weight was 10#s less @ 350# for Senior and #380 for Masters. In California club racing KA and VLR are allowed in Tag100cc but no weight difference.

Reviving this thread a bit. Recently saw a VLR posted for sale that had an option of being sold with a KA header and pipe if the buyer wanted to use it in senior. I have long wondered if the longer nature of the KA pipe is the big difference to the parity between the VLR and KA. Apparently some clubs are allowing this, was just wondering if anyone had some insight or has tried this. Up in the NW we have the additional 100c of Italians Motors X100AC (basically an easykart 100c), and i’ve seen those running the KA pipe locally probably for the same reason. Would be nice if the only thing needed to even out the engines was a common pipe, crazy idea :rofl:
