this project has taken me two years so far it’s extremely labor intensive, this go kart is 100% carbon fiber from the axle to the frame and I put a ninja 250 street bike engine in it.
I’m reaching out on here to find new subscribers to my tiny YouTube channel “Build&break” for people that find this stuff interesting I’ll post a link. I’d recommend watching the shorts
Thank you very much!! I went super over kill on the thickness so hopefully I don’t run into any problems. However it’s never moved yet it’s been a two year process and I’m finally gunna be done here in a few weeks
What is the end goal of the project? Fun? Shooting for some good lap times? Very curious what the final weight goal is as well as the horsepower. Those rear tires are wide!
My goal is to just shoot off the line fast as possible, like a dragster go kart it might not have the best steering unless I add weight to the front but we will see it might be just fine. And this thing including the engine weight a solid 100lbs
That is quite light considering the 250cc engine and the sheer size of the machine. Considering the space on the machine, I would have gone electric or SA250cc
That I true! There are lighter and more powerful engines I could have and probably should have used. But I just happened to find this one and I wanted it to be a 4 stroke to take regular gas and gets 50 miles per gallon so I found it super convenient but I have good hopes for this haha
Good eye that’s exactly what they are, just because they have allot of surface area for traction it will be good for the fast take off I’m looking for but would not help on steering
Haha hell yeah! and when i started this project i didn’t know much about making this stuff and I’ve never had to harness a motorcycle engine. I only knew how to do carbon fiber so this is pure experimental as well lol I’ll fix what breaks tho if anything
