I was in weekend vication . But today is my sweet nascar day to watch it !!

It’s been kinda fun watching a kid who our kids raced against in Quarter Midgets work his way up to the top rung of NASCAR and be at least somewhat successful there.

Happy to see my friend Sage get another ride this weekend in Xfinity.

Here’s the lid I did for him for this race.

Zilisch has got this in the bag though.

Oooh a matte look. I like.

Literally the first time I’ve heard his named mentioned at KartPulse during his whole signing and wild run on the Nascar side of things. In any other sport I’ve ever participated in, if someone from a lower tier made it to a higher tier like he has no one would have been able to get everyone from the lower tier to shut up about it, haha. Karting is weird that way. Same thing when drivers who have been at SuperNats a couple years before show up in F1. :man_shrugging:

Super nice helmet, btw!

I think that’s a reflection of the lack of NASCAR chat here in general. There was praise for him when he moved to cars and did Rolex etc. He gets tons of love from Kart Chaser and on socials from karting folks!

My generation of guys I raced against have been at top tiers for a few years now, these young kids making it there were in cadets when I was racing seniors… feeling old these days.

Sam Mayer for the win!

I’ve definitely mentioned him as I think he’s alien status. Very interested to see how he goes in Cup.

Definitely alien. It was a blast watching him in karting, was sad to see him go so quickly! Somewhat surprised that he ended going Nascar, versus more road oriented possibilities, but I can understand why elite American drivers would make that choice at this time, given the unlikely possibility of making it to F1 from this side of the pond.

Yeah, he came up this time last year. He’s on the pole for Xfinity race today. Gonna be Amazing to watch him and SVG battle it out Sunday too.

Thats from my first days when nascar was starting to be available in europe of you got the guts and the knowledge to drive you throw the nasty internet routes those days …

I can still remember us in our pajamas in our kitchen late night watching that …

I remember jorge said to me that maybe its time to make the phone call to our mate goros in Connecticut to ask him what the usa news tells about the drivers helth …

The driver was ok !!!

But you can see what nascar feels from my eyes …

And they are driving always left yes …

But they are driving hell offf a fast !!!

Love them . Sorry for that

I am a sucker for old time stories .

So how about that one , the team that had the nickname hollywood on wheels !!

Well nascar in that shape maybe it can be accused for some boring racing some nights …

But nascar monster cars on a circuit kinda race .
Hell no !! That was exciting . A good one race !

And i love it .

Lets see what gonna happens to the desert …

Well camping days before a nascar race in there .

That goes in my all time bucket wish list .
And thank you sir .

I grew up around the sport…late 70’s and 80’s. By far the best time for nascar, imo. I had 2 neighbors that were into the sport…Driver Neil Castles (soapy) and became a movie stunt cordinator…his son Neil followed in his foot steps. Stunts and some acting. I remember when he worked on the movie Six Pack with Kenny Rogers…he had some of the movie cars at his house…i was 16 years old…it was a big deal for me being a motor-head. Also another neighbor that owned a team.

It was totally different back then…certainly a lot more entertaining in the stands…lots of drinking and open pot smoking…very common to see fights. It was often joked-- We went to a fight and a race broke out! Lol…crazy times. They were also a little faster back then too. I liked it better back then…like with most professional sports back then…the pay was good…but not the level now and it changed when everybody got there own jet and making millions…even crew cheifs living in muliti million dollar homes. I’ve a cousin that is a flight attendant for one of tge teams…and My brother in law was a pilot for Earnharts…he liked them…then Robby Gordon…hated him…that guy is a idiot…too much to type…then on to Tony Stewart his favorite by far!..I have not been to a race in many years.
