2024 Formula 1 Season Discussion

It will be ignored of course. But we are getting dangerously political here…

Let’s not go down this rabbit hole.

Haas “livery launch”:

More carbon showing. I like it, looks very sleek from the 3/4 view.

They say it’s just a livery launch but there are some other aero details that are clearly ‘24. The last few years it seems Haas launches the livery on a very early version of the new car, so likely this is a very basic representation of the actual 2024 car.

I like. It’s not outrageously cool, but it’s solid. Feels indycar?

Anyone get the driver cards?

Collect em all?

I think we need Alanso and Hamilton to announce for the Andretti F1 team for 2027

No specifics but would be a bombshell if Horner was gone.

Kick Stake Sauber is such a dumb name (almost as bad as Visa CashApp RB), but it is cool to have some fluo green on the grid.

From a design perspective, it is nice to see they’ve done all the graphics in carbon/black and green and then all logos are in white. That’s a good general rule for designing liveries.

What team is/was that?

Sauber/Alfa (worst sponsor on the grid) promoting gambling to minors continues

Did he have an affair with the ECU or something?

The article says that everyone is “taking it seriously”.

But no one says what it is.

“Red Bull did not detail the nature of the allegations, but Horner himself has strongly denied any wrongdoing.”

I’m lot sure if I hate it or think it’s brilliant. Stake typeface is cool and I’d have liked to see more curvy lines to go along with it

I heard the allegations against Horner were possibly “inappropriate behavior” with an employee, maybe some inappropriate texts or images sent. Rightfully they are keeping it hushed until they can investigate.

Bah. This kind of stuff should be dealt with quietly and quickly (which is what they seem to be doing, to the extent possible). Unless it’s bad bad (criminal).

In the age of deep fakes and AI these kind of things need proper investigation. If its about controlling behaviour in the workplace, then that’s not something that can be judged upon over night either.

I can’t recall a pre season that’s had this many ‘major’ news stories in such quick succession in recent memory…

It just looks so fake to me. It will take awhile to sink it. Seems like something you would design as your own custom team in an F1 game.

This seems to be the latest rumor going around with the Christian Horner allegations:

What’s unfortunate though is even if things get squared away, simply the word “allegations” combined with a female employee, it all has such a negative connotation with sexual assault or harassment, it will be hard for him to shake that from his reputation. Obviously no one likes an @$$hole boss, but then again being a too-tough boss in a high-stakes stressful environment is a totally different crime from something as serious as SA or SH

Hopefully everything gets squared away and resolved with all parties.

So Red Bull is on top of the world and Horner is losing his shit at employees? Maybe they need to lose a bit.
