Hi everyone,
In the spirit of keeping things extremely competitive and fair I want to share the setups I have found to help me be a strong front runner. I hope this helps everyone out there.
Valve Lash
Exhaust: .005 and Intake: .000
or
Exhaust: .004 and Intake: .002
Depending on layout.
Carb:
Float Height: .890
Float Drop: 1.050
Air Screw: Sweet Spot has been found between 1 full turn and 1 and 1/4. Literally in the middle of that.
Idle: I like 1750. Keeps bottom nice and rich.
Needle on 3
Clutch:
Hilliard Flame:
2 Black and 2 White with Shoes Facing each other works very very nice.
Gearing:
Driver: 15 / Rear 53 for Top and 54 for Bottom
or
Driver: 16 / Rear 56 for Top and 57 for Bottom
Tire Pressure:
Sweet Spot Between 10 and 12. Finding 10.5 and 11 working very well these days. 11 working pretty good on Quali
Kart Setup depends on driver. I find on OTK a Neutral Heigh works very well. Flat Bar. Iād set the Toe out and Camber where everything sits neutral when your driver is in the kart. Rear I run all the way to 55. Nice and loose. Nerf bars nice and loose. Senior Class N axel cut to 1000 and Heavy Class H axel cut to 1000.
Lead. Put a 5 pounder in the front and do your best to place any and all lead away from the rear of the seat.
Birel AM29:
Front Height: Middle
Front Width: 2 Big and 1 Small spacer on the inside
Front Bar: Chrome
Rear Height: Drop to lowest. Width of rear with 206 rims tires about 48.5 and with KA size rims about 53.5
1 seat strut on each side
Again with Toe and Camber. Place it where it goes Neutral when driver sits.
Happy Racing Everyone!!!
