212 Predator Stock Build Advice - Short Track Pull

Predator started knocking after 2 race nights.

Just grabbed another non-Hemi and will swap over my stage 1.

Looking for:
Reliable setup to at least last a season.
Better low-end pull off tight corner
Worth adding: Holey Moses carb? Timing advance? Springs? Flywheel?

Old motor had pipe and intake.
Governor zip tied.
Hilliard clutch, 12/70 gearing
Barely would hit 4600-4800 RPM on straight, 3000-3300 RPM out of corners

Track:
320’ backyard dirt oval
Flat, “ice cream cone” shape
One sweeping corner where do have to slow down maybe burp throttle few times
one tight corner that needs braking.

Rules:
Stock Predator 212
Governor intact (zip-tied OK)
Pipe and intake allowed
Drum clutch
No flywheel rule yet, but open discussion
Also have discussed cams but still keeping Governor intact for easy tech of maybe an RPM rule.

Want to keep within reason to our rules but more stout than a stock setup. Appreciate any tips!

As long as you keep stock valve springs that really should not happen. How was that particular one built?
