40mm axle - What track width do you run?

Hi all, I know this question is full of variables but wanted to get your feedback on what you find generally good for rear track width.

Kart is a CRG 17mm/40mm medium axle. Right now it is running 1350mm (53") having a K100 restricted on it.

I’ll be running an LO206 with medium compound tyres. 1350mm seems a little narrow?

All feedback appreciated.

I don’t think your set up will change that much between a 100CC and a 206. 53” seems like a reasonable starting spot.

I had my first outing in the kart last weekend. With 17mm stubs I had 20mm of spacers inside and none outside. The rear was 1380mm.

It seemed to be okay but I needed to punch the throttle for the kart to turn out of the corner. I also checked inside rim to King ping and I’m running 20 to 25mm narrower than a 25mm axle!

So my question is, do you think it’s viable to run 25mm front axles and the current 40mm rear axle? I can get the rear axles to the maximum 1400mm width so all the benefit should come from the front change.

Anyway I had a ball in a frightening sort of way learning how to drive a kart. haha
