Since Challenge of the Americas’ will showcase the first ever OK-N race in history, we felt it was necessary to tip our hats and elevate the commitment

It’s all of a 1.5 hours drive for me. Will probably go watch either Saturday’s or Sunday’s race. Interesting to see how many run and just how fast the OK-N class is.

Last longer for sure. I am not convinced about the former.

I’ve seen plenty of ICA motors that would kill to experience side effects of “lasting four hours or longer” :joy:

Any initial views from COTA?

Maybe they just needed a little blue pill in the fuel.

I believe that was a FIAT ad a few years back.

From Ekartingnews, a breakdown of the entry numbers for COTA’s first round:

(Pre-Entries only, Walk-in entries not included)

VLR 100cc Senior: 37
VLR 100cc Junior: 27
Rok Shifter Senior: 14
Rok Shifter Masters: 11
VLR 100cc Masters: 10
OK-N:____________ 8
Mini Rok:__________ 8
Rok Shifter Junior:__ 0

TOTAL (Pre-Entries): 115

low-key start to the OK-N era then. Might be a good thing. Supply seems to have been a real probem though in Europe and elsewhere.

Given the supply issues and how recently everything has been announced, I don’t think its bad. Give it a few months and that number will be double for sure.

It’s like a club masters field turnout in f-series, numbers wise. A cozy race with plenty of room to crash into each other.

9 on live timing so i guess at least one walk up entry.

Its doing better then ROK GP was last year

That isn’t bad given the lack of engines available world wide

They would struggle to get 10 X30s at a big race in CA.

Where can i find livetiming ?

EDIT Found it

Good information on OK-N gathered by DC.

This has the be the strangest debut of a kart class I’ve seen for a while. FIA not mentioning it at all on their Facebook despite being world debut. I know technically it unaffiliated, so that makes sense, but still… strange. The we have two major manufacturers who can’t supply engines currently. Obviously TM were always going to be the front runners, but I didn’t think it’d be down to supply issues.

Mind you, a low-key start could be good.

I wonder who was in the Modena and switched, and if it was just to eliminate the variable since everyone else was on TM, or if there wasn’t much tuning support since that was the only Modena in the field.

1.5 sec faster than the Rok GP and just slightly slower than KZ is pretty cool.

I assumed TM would be the most competitive engine package from the get go. Modena have little success in the OK classes. It seems their main focus is on the KZ stuff.

Adrien Renaudin showed great speed with Modenas new KK3 last weekend at Lonato :grinning:
