Advice for TM R1 Timing advance

Hey everyone.

Last year was my first year shifter karting and I had a detuned TM R1. Less power and I could run it in 94 Octane.

This year I want to have it at full power and need to advance the timing/ check squish

I will be running it on 94 octane with VP Octanium added to it .

Does anyone know how to do this or can provide resources

1.65 and 0.9 squish. Do you know which head and piston you have ?

I just assumed it was the stock R1 head and piston. It came rebuild from PSL

There are multiple versions/combinations. The head insert code is stamped on the upper side, you can see it by looking around the spark plug. They have different volumes and shapes and require pairing with the correct piston

Hey the # on the head is R1- A- 3.5

And the # on the top of the piston is 53-93

ok, with R1-A-3,5 you can follow 1.65 and 0.9 squish.
