Air Filter Oil

Is it legal to use red K&N air filter oil on the LO206 air filter?

They don’t specify any certain air filter oil.

Thanks Matt! K&N red filter oil it is!
‘Learning the ropes’ here, and the one rule that stands out, “if it doesn’t say you can do it, then you can’t do it” is a catch-22.
Consider this closed, I’m moving on.

When you’re done oiling, use compressed air and blow out the filter

For clarity, put air nozzle inside the filter to blow excess oil out, or just blow across the external surface?
Thank you!

Anytime I oil the filter, I put it in the inside and blow out to remove any excess. It’s not as important with karts as it is with cars but I still do it to prevent additional dirt.

Just adding to this older thread.

The Green brand air filter pod supplied with LO206 is a paper filter with wire mesh covering the veins.

K&N air filter oil is for cloth air filters as far as I see stocked here downunder.

As a general question, what is the best way to clean a green briggs filter? Best doesn’t mean buying a green specific cleaning kit, just hardware or supermarket available products.

And as far as oiling the filter, Green does make an oil, but it’s about USD$40 down here which is extorsion.

May I ask what people use to oil their filters post washing? Every filter oil I can find is for either cloth or foam so your advice would be welcomed.

Thank you.

I have been using the K&N kit on all our Briggs filter for over 5 years and never had a problem.
To be honest I have never heard of the paper vs cloth point. I assumed they are all a form of cloth. Doesn’t paper breakdown when wet?

I use the K&N filter cleaner, and (red) oil kit, too. Seems to work great
