Am i doing something lawfully wrong here? Need opinion?

First of all im not trying to disrespect to any aim dealer.

So here’s the story. I live in indonesia (southeast asia).

A guy came to me looking for the brand new mychron 6. I checked my local dealer, they dont have in stock. Alao cant give me any confirmation when its gonna be available. My guy here wants it fast.

I found one in next door country. Malaysia. And another 1 from local ecommerce like amazon and such but only serve nationwide.

So i posted on my ig story and whatsapp story that i have limited stock for this.

And i think someone told the asia distributor where do i get it from. Had to lie that i got from my friend who just went to europe and bought there. And then he told me that im not a dealer. I mean i know im not a dealer. Just some guy trying to make some small bucks out of it.

My question to you all is…

  1. Am i crossing some line here? If yes please do tell me.
  2. Should i continue doing it or just leave it?

Last but not least. Im not trying to become an authorized reseller or disrespect to current reseller. Just some guy saw a window opportunity that theres someone looking to buy and i know someone.

Its not that im trying to be like those sneaker reseller where the shoes msrp is $100 and they resell for $1000.

This seems to answer your own question. But did you really have to lie or did you just choose to? From your post, you don’t say that you ever imported it illegally, so I am assuming you just are going to buy it and pay customs. If you are skirting customs illegally on purpose, then you already know that’s not legal. If you don’t have a contract with AIM and you are importing it from next door legally, why lie?

I kinda have to lie. Bcs i dont really want the distributor to really know where do i get the item from. There is nothing illegal here. My source import legally but hes just not an authorized reseller. Just like me, im not an authorized reseller.

I know where to get it quick, meet my buyer needs.

I must be missing something here. I’ve sold tons of stuff I’ve bought from other people, and I’d be shocked if a distributor would’ve contacted me about it. Just tell them to pound sand unless you are misrepresenting yourself as a dealer

Nope. I never represent myself as a dealer or trying to be a dealer. Im doing just like you did.
