Aspen + Fuel

Has anyone here used aspen + fuel? It’s premixed 2 stroke mix, mainly used for chainsaws etc.

I know there would be some adjustment required for the oil mix.

I was told by someone who tested it on a rotax, that it yielded 3/4 tenths a lap.

I’m considering testing out some race fuels on my kz to see if I can either can some time or keep my engine safer in lean conditions

Not sure where you’re located, but SKUSA used it as their spec fuel for a few seasons here, but they’ve since gone back to Sunoco leaded.

I never ran it, but I heard that there was consistency and fuel separation issues.

There’s a little more detail and history here:

I would imagine any club or series your run would have a spec fuel/oil. You time would be better spent learning how to tune your carb for the best results with those fuel/oil mixes.

Quality was a consistent complaint. The fuel was also prone to excess carbon buildup. I have not seen that same behavior with Sunoco since they made the change this year.
