Hey guys. My left and right front has a difference at 6kg when i scale the kart on leveld ground, with me in it.
It is a CRG KZ Road rebel chassis
Left side 32kg, right 38kg.
Both sides in the back says 50kg exact, so the seat is placed perfect.
I have measured the chassis, and i cant find anywhere it should be bended. (It lifts the rear wheels fine, with full turn on the stearing wheel on leveld ground)
The king pin at the wheel hubs is also shimmed the same.
Toe out 1mm both sides,
1mm negative camber both sides.
Castor same both sides, set at medium setting
I am confused
It’s not totally unusual for a kart to scale a bit off. Do you have weight on the kart you can use to balance it out? You need to make sure the steering is centered as we. Things like tire pressure being unequal can make a difference too.
If you measured everything and it all seems square then it’s probably fine.
You could stand chassis vertical and measure on underside (less in the way) from kingpin to opposite rear cassette. Should be same both side. If not, you’ll have to determine which side is tweaked. Hard to know for sure without a surface table or plate. Our local track has a frame straightening service, I think it runs around $60-80. Might make some local inquiries for something similar if you think it’s tweaked.
There is so many things that Can go wrong when scaling the kart.
Is the tires with the same pressure
Is the steering at straight ahead
Is the ground/scales 100% level.
Do you have the correct amount of duel In the tank.
G’et it checked on a chassis/frame table/jig and see how it looks.
I never is that conserned about side to side weight, more front to rear.
