Bigger reed cage conversion Iame Leopard

Hello everybody,

After I got the leopard close to the pace of the x30’s misfortune struck, it ate a carbon Reed petal (which had only about 4h of running time on it)

I stripped the engine, no big damage, only some minor scuff marks where the piece went between the crank and the casing.
The crank was out of true by 0.17mm however.

I already installed a bigger Tryton 17 which gave a tiny bit more power, but now I am converting the reed cage to a bigger one that I had lying around (72mm petals instead of 66.x)

Has anyone elso here tried this ?
I would be greatly interested in your findings.

Second thing I was considering is capping the wrist pin on both ends. My reasoning behind that is that it shorts the transfer ports on it’s way down possibly filling the pin with mixture instead of pumping it above the piston. Altough it is questionable this really happens, since every cavity beliw the ring should be at equal pressure. No pressure difference → no flow ?
But it would certainly reduce crankcase volume-> improving cylinder filling.

After some digging I found that the LKE R14 60cc two strokes have such caps in what looks to be PEEK plastic.

In a box of spare parts I bought some time ago there is also a new conrod, lighter en more of a knife edge disign. As fat as I can find its from Righetti Ridolfi and is specific for the leopard, being advertised as giving better suction and being very high quality.
Had anyone got experience with the Swiss Tecnologies (RR) conrods ? Since they are about 20gramms lighter, do you have to lighten the cranks opposite to retain the stock balancing factor ?

Thanks for your input or thoughts about all of this.

Best Regards

Stefan
