Briggs 206 Carb Legality Checks - 2023

As some of you know, I have a rando 206 that I picked up which I plan running locally and at the Rock Island Grand Prix.

It still has the seals (newer barcode type) so we’re off to a good start. I swapped the NGK plug out for the Autolite that’s specified.

My main question right now is on the carb. I recall there being a reg change at some point. Here’s what came with the 206 I bought. Should the logo contain the words “Briggs and Stratton”?

I also have this carb from my non barcode (black wire seal) 206. Is this the older Warlbro carb that was sunsetted a few years ago?

First carb is current model.

Second carb is the older carb. Lots of those will fail the 602 venturi check.

Thanks Matthew. Sounds like it would be worth teching the second one to make sure it’s legal.

I have heard this is the last year for the walbro. No longer allowed in competition even if it could pass (not likely) the .602
