Budget Drone for Capturing Footage

As the title says. Anyone have a suggestion for a simple drone to bring to the track? I would think it would be good for both cool shots and training. I would like to send one up to hover, loitering, and get a Birds Eye view of the track and lines.

I can’t make a recommendation…. But what are you thinking for price range. What’s “budget” to you?

Great question. Sub $500. I see DJI has a couple around that price range, but curious if anyone here has some suggestions. Maybe I should bug Xander, but he is probably using much better gear.

What you probably want is a nice stable one that can do stuff like follow. Start by looking up best drones 2024, im sure stuff like DJI etc will feature prominently. IIRC speed is a bit of an issue with the stable easy to fly ones.

Ted Domski filmed me. He was using the type of drone you fly with a goggle headset. it was very fast and agile. Very hands on.

If you have the time, check out Dcrainmaker.com. This guy reviews all the latest drones and other electronics and focuses on how they will follow and work autonomously during sports activities. His reviews are nonbiased and very informative.

Be aware, many tracks do not allow drones without additional permissions.

The mini is prolly the best within $500 budget but if u can stretch more air 3 or air3s is better with zooming capability.
