Cadet rain wheels

I’m looking at getting my son some aluminum rims for rain tires, the more I research it the more confused I get. What do you guys run? We run 130MM X 5" for the dry what is a good rim size for a newer kid in the wet? They will be MG wets.

Also I ask a lot of dumb questions on here, thank you guys so much for showing patience with us newbies!

Do you guys run 130 MM for all four wheels? If so, run aluminum 130mm for your rain tires.

Because of the conditions, the wheel is not as big of a factor.

Something like this will work fine:

If money was no object, I would buy cast aluminum for the rain, but realistically in cadet you are not going to notice a difference:

What are the other options you are considering that are causing confusion?

Some people say to go skinnier on the wheel to get a narrower contact patch for cutting through the rain. Especially for lighter rain though, I don’t see that being a big help

Do they make rims narrower than 130mm? I don’t see how a narrower or a wider rim will change your contact patch in a noticeable amount. However, it may change the sidewall flex.

Kid Kart rims go down to 90mm, and the contact patch is noticeably narrower.
