Can i break the clutch drum nut loose without one of these?

i need to break the nut loose to replace the clutch drum and little Sprocket but i dont have one of these can i still break the nut loose

Take a soft cotton rope, remove spark plug, stuff as much rope as you can fit into the cylinder with piston at BDC – but leave a loose end dangling out plug hole to retrieve rope. Then use a standard wrench to remove nut. The rope will act as a cylinder stop without the hard contact of a piston-stop out of metal (those also exist.) Someone should make a piston stop with a nylon ‘tip’.

Keep the sparkplug in and use the rattlegun you use for the wheel nuts.
Dont go crazy When you reinstall, keep it simple

Hi Liam,

We bought this one. Does the job and is not that pricey.

You will probably need it a couple times more during your adventures with a Rotax, cleaning and inspecting the clutch will be much easier.

Groeten!
