CKNA N00BS need help... going to G&J in a couple weeks

So myself and @flyingfin789 are heading down to G&J for CKNA North in a couple weeks to compete in his first big race. Other than last weekend, ive never mechanic’d a 206 kart. So any setup tips for a Compkart 4r would be appreciated.

Obviously we need to run the Vega Reds. Having never ran these tires before: what pressure range is good for these, what is the lifespan like, and how many sets of new tires should we bring to this event?

Other than that, like mentioned above, does anyone have any tips for setting up a compkart 4r for G&J? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

@CrocIndy has had limited success on the 4R. He can give you some tips.

My only advice is to start freeing the kart up now. The track is going to get grippier and grippier every session all the way up through the final on Sunday. If the kart feels perfect, free it up for the next session.

What about stretching the 6.0 tires on the 210mm wheels? Is that possible/allowed? I heard that frees up the kart a lot in the rear.

Yes, definitely possible and allowed. I strongly encourage it. It is what the fast folks will do.

Look up videos of racing on Configuration 1B, I haven’t heard if thats what they’re running yet, but I also don’t think they’ve ever run any other track configuration:

Well we are signed up and gonna be pitted in like D9 or something. Right next to the Stehle tent apparently.
