CKNA Number Rules

I will be racing in my first CKNA race in a few weeks at OVRP, and I would like to clarify one particular rule:

Do numbers have to be black on a white or yellow background? I have seen videos/photos of karts at previous CKNA races with color numbers.

I currently have yellow numbers on my black body work. I do not mind having to re-do my numbers, but would prefer to not mess with them.

I appreciate the help!

It really depends on the week. I have raced CKNA with numbers similar to yours and received no push back. I have also seen them sitting in the scale lines making people change. For a divisional race, with numbers that are clearly visible, you should be fine.

I appreciate it Derek!

That should be fine, it’s just usually the ones that are hard to read since theyre apart of a livery or something that they make you change. Worst case they have stickers for a dollar at all the races.

i’ve had this same question. at the grands in 2022, i didn’t really want to mess with my graphics, so i stuck on the numbers the ckna had available to buy. but, during the weekend, i did see a few racers who apparently just said the hell with it, and ran their custom graphics with nothing close to black on yellow. they were on track all weekend, so it must have been ok. i didn’t really pay attention at the grands last year, but i still went ahead and stuck on the black on yellow numbers.

I appreciate the insight. I guess worst case scenario I just peel off my existing numbers and stick on the CKNA numbers like Nagisa suggested. Hopefully it is NBD so I can just focus on racing (learning)

Track marshals appreciate your standardized black on yellow compliance.
