Cleaning Air Intake / Spoiler - Bell Helmet

Hello,

I have a Bell helmet with transparent air intakes and a spoiler, and I’m wondering if you have a solution to clean them or if it’s impossible.

With use, insects and dust get stuck inside these elements.

Thanks in advance

It’s not difficult to take the wing off and clean the helmet properly. Use masking tape to mark the location of the wing and then use a hairdryer to gently pull / pry off the wing. Use new small (3-5mm) transparent adhesive double sided tape to reapply the wing to the helmet using the markings from the masking tape. Start at top in the middle, push down approx. 2cm width of the wing and then adjust to match markings.

Cleaning the inside without removing is kinda impossible.

Thank you for your quick response.

Do I need to use a special adhesive, or is a transparent adhesive available on Amazon good enough? I haven’t been able to find any original Bell adhesive.

Also, the spoiler has been slightly coming off on the left side since I bought it (I think it was poorly attached). This might be a good opportunity to fix it properly.

Thanks for your advice.

I think 3M provides proper adhesive tape, but it’s more about the thickness of the tape to make sure the wing makes even and proper contact across the surface of the helmet. 3mm wide and 1mm thick is best.

Good luck!
