Clear coat paint for helmets?

Hi there. Just got my helmet vinyl wrapped but I’ve seen other peoples get ruined over time by peeling corners. The guy that wrapped my helmet put little clear sticky dots over the corners, but I’d rather be safe and put a few layers of clear coat over the whole helmet to keep it down.

Another person I know took his helmet to some professionals who charged him $400 to get it coated which I’m not looking to spend

Anyone know of some helmet-safe clear coat that I can use?
Thanks.

For something good that isn’t going to yellow and flake over time, you’ll need a real two stage clearcoat. And for that you’re going to pay a couple hundred bucks plus the time and tools to do it yourself. The clear I use for helmets is $500/gallon.

It’s also very possible the clear doesn’t stick well to the vinyl and you have flaking over time anyway, regardless of the quality of clear.
