What does the ladder structure on the exhaust do?
Cross bracing like that for strength but yet it doesn’t seem to support anything. Could it be structural to provide hoist point at back?
They appear to be two different sizes

Fairly certain that’s not raced with, as exhaust exits are strictly controlled, so it must be a logistical thing.

They often run during FP with various gizmos and fixtures attached for monitoring the magic. I guess it’s that.
Reminded me of this crazy device to measure air flow for testing.
