CRG bottom Sniper plate

Hi all,

my old CRG chassis has a circular plate with one hole and Allen head screw into the C section of the frame. It’s part 7 in the picture.

If you stand looking towards the kart along the stub axle, there are two holes drilled closest to the upright of the C section in the bottom. Again looking along the axle one hole is left of center and the other is to the right of center. Or if the center of the C section is 12 o’clock, one hole is at 1 and the other at 11 o’clock.

Does anyone know which hole is the default factory setting? Unlike the multi hole plate I have attached it doesn’t seem to have any big eliptical (if that’s the correct word) center.

As an aside, my other CRG had 4 holes in the same bottom plate part with a indicator dot. Again no clue what default is. I can see turning this would affect both camber caster in a major way.

And just to confirm karting set up is still doing my head in! But loving it!

The other kart has:

The standard bottom plate is concentric, #7 in your parts diagram, and not eccentric like the one in the other picture you showed. It doesn’t matter how it goes into the kart clocked since the hole is in the center. Also it doesn’t need a small screw to hold it in place even though the chassis has holes for it.

I believe on the eccentric pill you showed normally the dot goes to the front of the chassis, at least that is how most manufacturers do it.

Sounds like your crg has been modified. To avoid wasting your time post a photo of the actual pills on your kart so that people can help you.

To me it sounds you have the late 90s/early 00s pill system which it might be different than the photos you posted.

If you have the top sniper plate as shown above with the bottom eccentric, that is not unusual. The standard is a centered, or concentric, bottom pill that has no screw holes in it. If you want to run large amounts of caster one way or the other, or perhaps more extreme camber than the top snipers will allow, then the eccentric bottom pill will let you do just that. We have only used the eccentric bottom pills once since we hopped over to the CRG this year.

Apologies as I haven’t pulled them apart to measure but the top pic is the chassis with 17mm stubs and the second is the 25mm stubs. Both are CRG of the same model, just different versions. 17mm is 100cc Yamaha and the 25mm is a Rotax chassis. Both which should be fine for LO206 class.
