They’ll match it to closest pantone. Vector images are preferred. If it’s a raster image like a jpeg then it may end up looking a bit pixelated. Depends how big you want the image on the suit and how good a resolution the raster image is.
Do they offer different fabric weights and breathability options? Its freaking hot and muggy down here in DFW lately. Even with my cooling vest on underneath I find myself drenched in sweat when I come off track.
Oh good question. What I want to get is a much thinner suit than the Terry cloth one. The Norberg type that seems more like an unlined suit.
Wish I could find a vintage CRG suit that isn’t one of those cheap eBay ones
In theory someone could recreate it in a custom suit.
I’d be surprised if there isn’t someone in one of the F100 facebook groups that has a line on “vintage” factory suits. @Alan_Dove , any ideas?
Pretty sure MIR Raceline (who made a lot of the suits back in the day) will make replicas.
My son wants a matching suit now. Actually that’s a cool idea. Looks like we gonna order 2.
This would be alot easier if @highSRT decided to go public with his livery/suit designs.
One of the guys in my class at NTK has the old Porsche Blue Gulf Livery on his kart and a matching Suit. I gotta admit it looks pretty sharp! I will try to get a picture and share it here.
Edit:: Found one!
He just happens to be right behind me…which is unusual!
Well since Nick wants a suit too, I have to abandon the weed livery as that would be very bad and result in divorce.
Which is a pity since the graphics are lit:
So, noobie question, but how do you guys decide what logos and such go onto your suits? Like are they sponsors of yours or just orgs/companies you like or use? As a club racer, I always felt it would be a bit hacky to have a bunch of logos from companies not paying me to be there but I don’t know what the norm is.
I have been thinking it might be cool to get my name embroidered on the rear of my suit but can’t think of much else that would go on there.
The only logo on my suit that I don’t have a partnership agreement with or is a product that I sell is KP.
In my case it’s just stuff I think is neat-o. I shall likely put a couple real ones on to pay homage to friends and their biz, tho.
You are running a matching suit and livery these days I see. New design on kart?
Basquiat seems like an inspiration:
Pynchon:
back:
Front: Yoyodyne Inc.
What is Yoyodyne? Per Wiki:
“Yoyodyne is a front for a group of red Lectroid aliens, all with the first name John, that landed in New Jersey in 1938, using the panic created by Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds radio play as cover.”
This explains John Bonanno and his karting dominance. He’s a real Alien.
The color scheme is close, but its the same suit I have had since I started racing. When I got the kart it had the standard OTK sticker kit that looked like jagged runs of paint had blown down it. It wasn’t in the best of shape when I got it and after a few seasons of rubbing and wrecking, I decided to replace it. That was the same time I bought and refurbished my daughter’s DAP Kid-kart. I let her pick out her livery and I settled on that one in the green motif.
I think for my next one I will want some creative input into the design. I like the look of partially exposed machinery, like gears, cables or sub structure like an air frame. Maybe something like the WW2 bombers used to paint with a pin-up girl.
Could you image having a matching race suit that resembled an old timey flight suit with matching lid to go with it. That would be pretty cool! Sort of like a nod to the era it all began around hot rod shops and racing on old air strips.
Yeah the possibilities are endless. Part of me is tempted to try the design myself, as opposed to hiring an artist.
I just met this real nice dude “Captian Awesomeness” at the recent OVKA race, I believe he just started a custom suit business.
