Most folks who have driven a sprint kart for any amount of time have at heard of Superkarts and seen a video or two of them. I’ve know they were fast for a long time (like faster than all the production car classes and even many of the purpose-built car classes), but until I saw this video I didn’t know much about the actual mechanical details of a Superkart. Jason from Norcal Karters does a great job of giving a deeper look. Fascinating and more different than I imagined from a sprint kart.

Hello, awesome info. Time to make my first post here
I’ve gotten into fixing my old shifter that I had way back in 1999 when I was 12yrs old. Its a 1995 Swiss Hutless Vitess with a 1986 CR125 engine. This post reminded me of a day when my big brothers buddies bought a YZ250 “super kart” with similar fairings and rear wing. I think it was a Tony Kart. Anyways they let me drive it around the track and it accelerated like watching a 1930’s sped up black and white movie
And yes I was just turned 12yrs old, 40kg and 156cm tall, had to have a 10cm thick pillow behind my back to even reach the pedals
