Difference in spark plugs

These are my last 3 spark plugs, all the same model (BPR9EIX) Iridium. All have had roughly the same amount of time on them but I’ve noticed some big differences in the way they look. The 3rd plug looks shorter and the electrode is deeper. The 2nd plug has a flatter ground electrode compared to the 1st, and it’s center electrode has a wider taper compared to the 1st.

What do you guys think? I would’ve thought quality control would ensure better parity from plug to plug, but there are quite noticeable differences in just the 3 I have on hand.

Where are you buying from? I know there is a massive issue with fake spark plugs out there. Possible that you have some non-OEM ones? This doesn’t seem like a QC issue as much as something else.

I’ve bought the plugs from 2 or 3 different local kart shops in my area and at the track. Not sure which one came from where.

Yeah I’ve been doing some research about plugs and youtube has fed me a lot of videos about identifying fake NGK plugs. I had no idea something like that would be faked so often.

I’ve done the checks and haven’t found anything to suggest any of these are fake although I can’t be sure.
