I’m going LO206 racing and I’ve been thinking about upgrading to an FIM certified helmet. I currently have use a SNELL rated automotive helmet. Karting seems like there would be more Moto GP like head injuries than open wheel car like injuries. They are a bit pricy but my head is my second favorite organ.
Does anyone have any experience with FIM helmets, thoughs?
I would make sure your organization you race with allows such a rating.
My preference is for karting or car rated helmets, as they’re designed for the purpose. But some people like moto helmets.
I would go with a good karting purpose made helmet as well. Can’t go wrong with one of them. Saved me from a few bad ones that’s for sure.
