Formula 1 - 2025 Season Discussion

It’s perfectly reasonable.

I would agree in most cases. When the team is hemorrhaging talent and leadership over a 2 year period, then it may be time to jump the sinking ship.

I concur. Smaller and lighter cars are sorely needed. The PU has been off the rails for a few design iterations now and looks to be more so for '26. Personally I think it would be amazing if the FIA just give the teams a fuel limit and let them go design. Just might see some innovation in motorsport again as teams work to balance weight, engine size/power, and electrical/hybrid power.

Why does F1 even have rain tires? They can’t use them with the modern aero fog machines. Heck they can’t even run in intermediate conditions sometimes. Might as well be slicks only.

Boring…

Thanks race control for not letting us have a good rain race as most teams setup their cars for.

Oh well, now for Laguna Seca.

Circulating behind a SC while there’s a literal dry line forming and then a rolling start

People will still watch anyway, but man what was that about?

Ya, that race sucked. Hamilton coming through in the first few laps was fun, but other than that it was boring. Lando really blew this as well. Not surprising. Lando gonna Lando.

You could conceivably run wets in qualifying.

Piastri is cold as ice. He had issues last year managing the tires, but he’s proven he’s fixed that. He’s marginally slower than Lando over one lap, but he’s so so strong mentally and now he’s consistent and has long race pace.

RACB / FIA not investing in Blower Pickups after 2021 is wild.

Probably makes it harder to reach net-zero.

Really no point Pirelli even making full wet tyres :man_shrugging: That race should have been up and running way sooner.
Hamilton pretty much provided all of the entertainment. Good to see my guy Gasly getting a point in tenth. He withstood a lot of pressure. Get Valteri in that second Alpine or put Doohan back in there.
I’m planning to go to Spa next year for the race, hope there are mixed conditions again, going to do a track day at Nurburgring after the race:)

Ferrari have given team principal Frederic Vasseur a new multi-year contract ahead of this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix.

Vasseur has been in the post since the beginning of 2023 and was a key element in seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton joining from Mercedes this season.

Fred is the man. I’m glad he’s staying.

I hope it will rain this weekend. Not an easy track to overtake on.

That would suit Lewis and Max. Be nice to see them battle again!

I have talked a lot of shit in this thread about Lando, but I must say I am very impressed that he managed to hold off Piastri on much fresher tires. He bottled the start like he always does, but he came back. On sheer pace, Lando is a championship level driver. I just wish he could learn better racecraft. I still don’t see him winning this championship, but I would love to be wrong.

Lando got lucky with his strategy there. No one expected that strategy to work and he was able to sneak one past the other front runners. Oscar lunged a bit too early in those last few laps I think. But it was a good effort.

Shame that Charles had the issue, because he looked super strong in that first stint.

The Red Bull is a disaster. RB beating them is unacceptable for them.

Nice to see the Astons hold strong and pick up big points. Was worried Fernando’s qualifying lap was a fluke.

Aston was brilliant this weekend. Why does Max want to stay at Red Bull? I don’t get it.

Red Bull should just copy / paste RBs car for the remainder.
