Whenever you go look at a kart keep a few things In mind.

Always look at the underside of the chassis, it’s normal to some scuffed paint and slightly flat spots (especially on the very front and sides). If the kart has chassis protectors that is a bonus, just make sure they weren’t thrown on just before the sale. Don’t want to buy any chassis where underside of the frame, or any part for that matter has any holes or large cracks through the alloy.

Always check the seat supports, check the welds around them, they tend to crack which is normal. Welding them back won’t really hamper performance so long as they welded it correctly.

Take a look at the nooks and crannies of the chassis to see if there is any major build up. It’s a telltale sign the kart wasn’t regularly cared for and was just wiped down to “look pretty” for sale. Karts tend to pick up a lot of crap on track so a little bit of dirt here and there is normal even after a pretty good cleaning.

Ask if the chassis has been bent, if it had been bent ask when it was bent, on what side and were it was straightened (if at all).
