Hey guys,
I was just wondering if there are any examples/images of racing karts that may have used suspension in the past or if anyone has any projects.
Cheers!
Suspension is specifically outlawed in all competition so it’s never really been develop except for home brew stuff for funsies.
I guess the Sodi Futura? Though I don’t know if it counts as a suspension
I remember hearing DAP tried to do something similar but the CIK FIA reject them.
The SODI has rigid connections, so it’s not “suspension,” but rather acts like a rigid anti-roll bar system.
There was, however, some spindle based spring suspension early in karting. Most of it went away with FKE and the other more experimental homebrews…
that looks pretty full on…
That isn’t something I’d like to be hit by. It would be like being hit by a building.
Sick photos, Alan, added to my collection.
I’m diggin the dude in the leather jacket and loafers. I may spec that for my (non-existent) crew.
You buy the loafers and I’ll be there!
I personally think a “kart” with suspension is not a kart, it’s more like a “buggy”
