My neighbour is getting rid of his kart and asked me if i wanted to buy it off him. I dont know what these go for and it looks cool but its old. I dont know if id make a big mistake buying it or maybe its one of those rare older chassis. What does a chassis like this go for typically? Is it rare or interesting at all? It has brake in the front which confused me, i can also see it used to be a shifter chassis.
Welcome.
Not really old enough to be of historical significance and not really new enough to be top-level competitive. Good kart though if it’s straight and no too worn out. The front brakes are from it being a shifter chassis.
Oh ok, fair enough. Thank you for responding. If i was to grab it id end up just having fun learning to go kart i guess, nothing crazy like racing yet.
I guess I’d throw an internet ballpark figure of $1200 for the chassis. Maybe $1500 since it has front brakes. Provided it’s straight and doesn’t have major grinding to the rails underneath it could be a great chassis to start with.
Yeah I was going to say $1000-$1500 so I agree with James. For a fun kart just to turn laps it would probably be fine if it’s in good shape and straight.
