Lavanto only makes one type of tire. In terms of hardness, how does the Lavanto tire compare to other brands like Evinco which has a medium and hard option?
I can’t speak to Envicos, but our club series switched from MG reds to Levantos and I can tell you from mounting the tires and from driving them that the Levantos are softer.
I think Evinco makes MG. Red are the harder and yellow softer. Thank you.
Np man. Interesting. I didn’t know that. I imagine it’s a bit like chassis brands where most of 'em are just the same chassis with different graphics.
I have driven mg yellows and levantos back to back. I’d say the levantos are a tiny bit harder than yellows. Maybe 0.2-0.5 seconds a lap slower depending on the track surface. The SM2 yellows seem to last a little longer.
LeVantos are manufacturered by LeCont and are the CIK-FIA homologated LOH Option (hard) compound rebranded for OTK single supply usage.
Likewise, Evincos are rebranded MGs, manufacturered by MG in Brazil.
The LOH is an excelent tire with good rubber depositing capabilities (like all LeConts) and with a hard sidewall, very good for KZs. In terms of performance, it’s probably a couple of tenths faster than the MG SM2 Prime (yelow).
Do we have any durometer ranges for the tires?
