All good. Half of our team is in St Pete still. I was supposed to fly down to Sebring on Tuesday. It’s weird that the beginning of the season is going to have a longer off period than the actual off season.
When I made the original post I had already forgotten that the Purdue Grand Prix which is a popular kart race ran annually at Purdue University that has been running for over 50 years has been canceled.
On the up side, with all the social distancing, maybe there will be less kart to kart contact on the track?

Stay well everyone.
Relieving to see some large metro areas are taking it seriously. Hopefully we can stifle the spread. Talked to a few people in Italy this weekend and it’s a pretty scary situation over there.
We got ourselves a state of emergency here in Serbia, starting from today. I was lucky enough to end raceweekend yesterday but I really doubt the season will continue in early April, as it was originally planned.
Do you guys have some numbers to talk about, how long will you be on hold for racing? Weeks, months? Whats the condition?
What will you do in spare time, physical preparations, doing workouts?
UK government is planning for this to last a year. The whole year could be a right off racing wise.
Oh that sounds pretty rough. I honestly hope it lasts much less and that you don´t lose entire season, that really doesn´t sound fun at all…
We’re all hoping this isn’t going to be as bad as it looks.
I’m somewhat excited to see what creative ideas people and business come up with.
Time attack anyone?
Ill take you on in sim. All of you. This is the moment I have been waiting for, lol.
@Stacker you gonna be modest or you gonna share your first race with the world?
Haha, I will of course @Bimodal_Rocket , kind of forgot that I only PMd you. By the way, probably only race that has taken place this year, that avoided restrictions, at least from what I heard from you guys, so there is my debut race:
There is one more but boring to watch I guess. No overtaking.
Congrats. Your driving looks good and you are pretty fearless in traffic. You look like you’ve been doing this a while, and it’s your first race, which you won, by a mile.
You are much more fluid here than at Autokomerc. That might be partially due to being on a track that flows more. Regardless, you are much smoother, less rushed and less flappy with the accelerator pedal. The new, more powerful karts seem to suit you as your foot work is massively improved. You also seem to be developing a feel for squeezing the throttle and being thoughtful about power/grip.
One of the sharp. fast turns is kinda interesting to watch. You are very slightly late to throttle a few times. Coincidental with rushing the corner a bit. But overall, really, really good.
Your first go at the leader into the tight downhill turn was a classic TJ, no window shop. You looked down the inside, vacillated a bit, and then had to scramble to tuck back in and lost a few lengths. But, you learned and didn’t do it again.
Again, congrats. I hope you get to race again in April.
@KartingIsLife can you split plz if it makes sense to you?
For the larger picture of karting and CoVid-19, Sodi World Championship in Dubai has been postpones until October sometime. My local league doesn’t seem to bothered by it yet, and their sister league (in another city) hosted an event yesterday.
@Stacker amazing driving for you first race! Hopefully yo get to race again soon
It is serious, but over also hyped, IMO. The enacted protocols are intended to the mitigate the transmission rate to hopefully avoid spiking the infection levels & overwhelming the available medical resources. If successful, the infection rate will have nearly run its course into the recovery phase.
I’m really wishing I’d setup my sim rig before this. sigh.
@M_Martin Opportunity knocks! Or something.
Thanks @Bimodal_Rocket and @Bobby. I hope I will be able to go racing as soon as possible, but so far not so good. Restrictions are increasing and panic as well. I am looking forward to quick ending to this pandemic here and in the rest of the world as well.
I’m desperately looking for used sim gear right now. I might be my saving grace
Out here in MA there is a very good chance of a lockdown. State reps are pushing the governor to do a full quarantine. No groups over 25 people allowed and restaurants are closed. So far no word from my local club but I can’t imagine them going forward in this situation. School is cancelled for at least 3 weeks probably more. Trying to stay fit if the season starts.
