Hub Spacers

I have had opposing viewpoints on the use of hub spacers, and wanted to get some thoughts from the group.

We run KA Sr in an OTK chassis. MG Red Tires. I have been using nylon hub spacer recently because we have a tight track heavy on the left handers. I had noticed the hub slipping back in towards the chassis.

Does utilizing the hub spacer change the effectiveness of the axle? If you’re running a cut axle, do the hub spacers negate the effectiveness of the shorter axle?

Do hub spacers affect the overall grip of the rear tires?

Appreciate the feedback!

This gets brought up a lot. No effect on axle stiffness. Always run them to save yourself from the hub sliding in. Plus they make track width changes faster since you can just add or remove a spacer and slam the hub back on instead of measuring.
